Hotel Landhaus Wachtelhof: Elektroauto laden in Rotenburg

We booked this hotel because it has a nice pool, unfortunately the pool is under renovation until nov( this info was not state anywhere ).. but we are offered to go to the public swimmingpool pool close by, and we got refund the tickets

Potential guests booking Wachtelhof for its wellness facilities should be aware that a significant part of those facilities may be unavailable during their stay, while the hotel may still insist that a non-refundable reservation remains non-refundable.

I chose the hotel specifically because of its wellness offering, including the swimming pool.

Shortly after my reservation, I got an email informing me that the pool wouldn’t be available during my stay.

The hotel initially informed me that the pool would be closed for four months due to extensive renovation work and that guests would instead be referred to a another pool outside of the hotel area, called Ronolulu.

This turns out to be a public water park approximately 15–20 minutes away on foot and appears to be geared primarily towards families with children.

When I requested cancellation and a refund, I was told that my reservation was non-refundable.

Later, the explanation changed, and I was informed that the original email had been sent in error and that the closure was instead due to an unforeseen technical defect.

Regardless of the reason for the closure, a significant part of the wellness experience I booked could not be provided.

I appreciate that the hotel offered an alternative. However, I did not book a wellness hotel simply to gain access to any swimming facility. I booked Wachtelhof because of its integrated spa and wellness environment. While the proposed alternative, Ronolulu, may be perfectly suitable for some guests, it isn’t comparable to the quiet, on-site wellness experience that influenced my decision to book this hotel.

What disappointed me most was the hotel’s handling of the situation.

Despite being unable to provide a significant part of the facilities that influenced my booking decision, the hotel maintained that the reservation remained non-refundable.

When I asked them to explain why they believed the non-refundable terms should still apply under those circumstances, I didn’t get an answer.

I’m sharing this experience so that other guests can make an informed decision.

If the wellness facilities are an important reason for your booking, I’d strongly encourage you to verify their availability directly with the hotel before committing to a non-refundable reservation.
